Lauren studied food systems and public health at the University of Minnesota where she learned about the complex systems that make it possible to feed the world, and the health issues that arise from having too much or too little food. Motivated by her desire to create a more sustainable and equitable food system, and tackle some of the world’s largest health problems, she found the perfect fit with Partners in Food Solutions as the Volunteer Communications Associate. “My favorite part of my job is being involved in something larger than myself. PFS has this saying 'little by little, a little becomes a lot,' that I whole-heartedly believe in. We have amazing corporate partners that want to give back, and when we all work together, we can make a really great impact.” Lauren previously worked at a PR agency that specializes in natural and organic CPG brands, where she supported client’s marketing initiatives through ambassador programs, media relations, logistic management and event planning. When she’s not at work, Lauren loves to hike, cook (she was vegan for 5 years), spend time with her newest family member, Addie the cat, and most recently took up bouldering.
