Dean Bachmeier has spent almost 40 years working in finance - both banking and private equity- and decided that his next chapter would be all about putting his skills to good use in the nonprofit world. He started by becoming even more active at his church of 25 years, Westminster Presbyterian Church in Minneapolis, a congregation with a long history of community engagement. In 2013, he joined their board of directors as treasurer. It was there that Dean heard from another parishioner that Partners in Food Solutions was looking for a chief financial officer. He joined us in 2017.
A true Northerner, Dean spends a good chunk of winter on his cross country skis. He has competed in the Birkebeiner - the largest and one of the longest cross country ski races in North America - for the past 20 years. Except for 2017, when there wasn’t enough snow to race. He wasn’t happy about that.
Dean grew up in Grand Forks, North Dakota, and studied accounting at the university there. He also has his MBA from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. Dean and his wife Carol Greenland have one adult daughter and call Southwest Minneapolis home.
